Katie Jones

I’m Katie, a former operations director and mom of three boys. I built this for my own house first.

Works in Claude on any plan, even free. There’s a simpler version for ChatGPT and Gemini.

Sound familiar?

You’re not disorganized. You’re the only one holding the list.

The way it is now

  • You’re the one who remembers spirit day, the form due today and the gift for Saturday.
  • You’ve told ChatGPT your kid is allergic to peanuts more times than you can count.
  • Every family app wants its own login and its own monthly fee.
  • You tried AI once, got something generic, and went back to doing it yourself.

With your team

  • The Household Manager finds the form and the date in this week’s school emails.
  • Every assistant already knows the allergy. You told it once.
  • One AI you already pay for, set up once. Nothing new to log into.
  • It knows your house, so the first answer actually fits.

Is it worth the time?

You put the time in once. It pays you back every day.

I know how it sounds. Who has hours to explain their whole family to AI? You don’t need hours, and you don’t have to figure out what to tell it. The prompts walk you through it. The more it learns your house, the less you explain, and it keeps getting better the longer you use it.

It interviews you

One question at a time, with an example answer, so you never have to figure out what to say.

Talk instead of type

Use voice mode or the microphone on your phone and just ramble. Messy is fine.

It gets better as you go

When it misses, one sentence fixes it for good. That's training too, and it takes ten seconds.

One interview. Your whole week, planned.

Dinners that fit your nights, everything due from school, the weekend, who needs something from you, and ten minutes for you. Every assistant does its part, so you see the whole team work before you hire any of them.

The app stack

Another family app won’t fix this. The AI you already pay for will.

Four logins, about $35 a month, and none of them know your family. Every app promises to be the one place for everything. Then it’s one more login, one more fee and one more thing to learn.

A typical family app stack

  • Notes and home dashboard (Notion Plus)about $12/mo
  • To-do list (Todoist Pro)$7/mo
  • Recipes and meal plan (Plan to Eat)about $6/mo
  • Family organizer (Maple)$9.99/mo
Every monthabout $35

Example prices, monthly billing, from each app’s pricing page or App Store listing, checked Oct 2026. Your stack may look different.

Instead

The AI you already pay for, set up once so it knows your house.

Five assistants reading one household profile. You stop retyping your life into four apps.

“I was someone’s brain for a living. Then I had three boys and did it for free.”

  • Former operations director
  • Former executive assistant
  • Mom of three boys
  • Would rather build it
  • Hates subscriptions

For years my job was holding everything for someone else: the calendar, the details, the thing nobody else remembered. At home it was the same job with no days off. So I set up my own team inside the AI I already pay for, taught it my house once, and handed it the list. Now I make bread, get out in the garden, and actually make the 2pm school thing.

Questions

The honest answers.

I'm not techy. Can I really do this?

Yes. Everything is copy and paste, and the interview asks one question at a time with an example answer, so you're never staring at a blank box.

Do I have to pay for AI?

Your First Hire works in Claude on any plan, including the free one, with a simpler version for ChatGPT and Gemini. The assistants that run on their own on a schedule need a paid Claude plan, and each one says so plainly.

Is my family's information safe?

You choose what goes in. Use first names, leave out addresses and anything you'd hate to see leaked, and turn off the setting that lets your chats train future models. Your profile lives in your own AI account, not on my site.

How is this different from a family organizer app?

An app is one more login and one more monthly fee, and it only knows what you type into it. This lives in the AI you already have, learns your house once, and every assistant reads the same profile.

Does it do anything without asking me?

No. It drafts, you send, book and buy. Nothing goes on your calendar without your yes, and it leaves your allergens out of every food idea. You still check labels before anyone eats.

What if it gets something wrong?

Say "That's not right" and it hands you the corrected profile. You fix each miss once, and it stays fixed.

When can I hire the rest of the team?

The first live build, Build the Kitchen Manager, is Nov 19 to 21, and checkout is open. The other assistants are coming soon: join a waitlist and you hear first. Your First Hire is free right now.
